I have always had a passion for fashion, crafts and creative flair. Dabbling in crochet, smocking, floral arranging, doll making, quilting, and the list goes on. Opening Hermitage Country Cottage with my little craft shop and devonshire teas in the beautiful garden in the 90’s. After many ups and downs with health issues and moving house, (I was very sad to leave my beautiful home & garden), after some time daughter Jasmine and I opened Ruby & Kate in 2012.
Mother-in-law to Chris and daughter Jasmine’s Nanny, Ruby was a very special lady. We had a very close relationship with this wonderful woman. She was a loving, funny, caring Nan and a terrific cook. Ruby nurtured our family with food and love. She was our rock and we loved her dearly.
Chris’ Mum and Jasmines’ other Grandma. Kate was a tiny, vivacious woman whose artistic talents were many, including embroidery, making clothes, painting, and all manner of crafts. She left a legacy of stitching and crafting, which has continued through two generations. Kate was also a member of the Koppio Country Womens Association. She was a loving soul and much loved in return by her family and many friends. Unfortunately, Jasmine never met her, but the similarities are eerie!!
Here we are 10 years down the track. Jasmine married Rick and moved to live in Cleve. Jas is now very busy with three beautiful children. She is creating amazing photography and turning a charming old Federation Villa into a stylish family home.
I am still madly busy. Ruby and Kate is my passion. A big, beautiful space to share and feed my creative soul. In between, getting totally distracted by Grandchildren, beautiful fabrics, yarns, fashion and giftware in this ever-changing journey with Ruby & Kate. I love every bit of it…. Well maybe not the Office Work!
